The 2024 Food Solutions New England Network Leadership Institute Narrative Group have been capturing moments of joy in the food system. By collecting narratives from across the world and visually displaying them through story mapping in ArcGIS, this project is intended to provide proof and possibility: proof of the many people and projects that are making a positive impact and how they are imperative to creating a just and equitable food system.
Shane is the Program and Communication Director for Food Solutions New England where he is working to build equitable and inclusive food systems that work for people through effective narrative building and collective action and communications. Heather MacLean is the Special Senior Assistant at Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation. Shannon was the Program Director for Hope’s Harvest, the hunger relief program of Farm Fresh Rhode Island, where she is working to both reduce on-farm food waste and increase access to local, fresh, nutritious produce for all Rhode Islanders.
