  AGO is a member-led community and in fall 2023, we are kicking off new programming initiated by our members and led by our members.  Growing out of the connections forged at the Symposium and as follow up to the Symposium workshops on food waste and food justice, we are kicking off two new member-led programs.  Program details and registration information can be found below.  If you would like to share your ideas for program offerings with the AGO community, email shawn@gleaners.us. 

Documentary Film Series

Join AGO Member Adam Hicks as he hosts virtual documentary night events.  First, you watch the movie independently and then we all meet over Zoom in our respective time zones to discuss as a group. Register below to participate in the discussion. 

  •  January 2024 film Speciesism the Movie about the hidden world of factory farming. You watch the movie on your own schedule and then join the community for a Zoom discussion with the film director Mark DeVries.

Racial Equity Habit Building Challenge

Coming in April 2024, AGO member Hillary Bailey, in conjunction with Food Systems New England, will lead the 21 day Racial Equity Habit Building Challenge.  Details about registration will be shared in February. 2024.

You commit to deepening your understanding of, and willingness to confront, racism for twenty-one consecutive days in April of each year and the Racial Equity Challenge will:

    • Raise your awareness, change your understanding and shift the way you behave.
    • Go beyond individual or interpersonal racism by helping to demystify structural and institutional racism and white supremacist patterns that are sometimes invisible to people.
    • Inspire you to act, on your own or with others in your organization, business, or group, to dismantle these systems, to make changes in your work and the world that can build true equity and justice for all.
