Billy Mitchell
University of Florida Extension Produce Safety Team
Billy Mitchell is an Education and Training Specialist with the University of Florida Extension Produce Safety Team based out of Gainesville, FL. Billy earned his master’s degree in Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communication (ALEC) from the University of GA and is pursuing a PhD with the Agricultural, Education, and Communication (AEC) at the University of Florida. He has worked on and managed small scale diversified vegetable farms and composting operations. In his role with the UF Produce Safety Team, he works with Extension and other partners across Florida to provide technical assistance, education, and training to producers and processors who feed communities in and outside of Florida. Outside of work, he enjoys gleaning with the Giving Garden, riding bikes, and spending time at the farmers market.
